Collins unfazed by Astros' AL shift
By Adam Rubin
Terry Collins downplayed the Houston Astros' impending move to the American League for 2013. After all, Collins noted, the Mets only see the Astros and other non-division NL opponents six games a year now. Heck, they see the Yankees that many times a season.
Collins managed the Houston Astros from 1994-96, finishing in second place each season. He felt like he had a great shot at the postseason his first year, but a strike ended the season in mid-August, with Houston's record at 66-49.
"If we played them more, the answer would be yes," Collins said about the league move feeling odd. "But when you only play them home-and-home, not really. It's almost like doing an interleague game. It's a little different than it once was."
