Duda has left hamstring issue
By Adam Rubin
ATLANTA -- Lucas Duda's left hamstring has been uncomfortable for the past couple of weeks, so Terry Collins plans to hold him out of the starting lineup this weekend, to try to guard against worsening the injury. Duda had hoped the All-Star break would calm the issue.
"It's been bothering him for a while, and he thought the rest was going to help him," Collins said. "And it's stiffened up on him a little bit. We're going to give him a couple of days' rest, use him late in the game if we need him. But, as I told him again today, I'd rather have him on the bench than have him start the game -- especially in this humidity -- and have it cramp up and have to pull him out in the third, because then it really shortens the moves you can make."
Said Duda: "It's nothing major. 'Skip' gave me the day today, and I should be ready to pinch hit or whatever happens. Like I said, it's not a big deal. A couple of days it should be ready to go."
