Santana script still calls for Opening Day

By Adam Rubin

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. -- Elaborating on the plan roughly outlined by Terry Collins on Friday, pitching coach Dan Warthen said there is a script in place that gets Johan Santana four spring-training games, then the Opening Day start against the San Diego Padres on April 1 at Citi Field.

The math requires Santana to be in a Grapefruit League game by March 10 or 11.

Santana would not get an extra day of rest between each spring-training start.
