Frank Francisco feels 'OK,' not 'great'

By Adam Rubin

Frank Francisco threw 25 pitches Saturday in Florida and felt "OK" but "not great," manager Terry Collins said.

The reliever, who is on the disabled list after experiencing elbow inflammation, is not imminently returning to the Mets.

Collins said doctors have reexamined Francisco and found no structural damage. Francisco had a bone spur removed from his right elbow in December, which typically is a benign procedure from which pitchers quickly return.

Francisco -- who is earning $6.5 million this season -- has yet to work back-to-back days, which is a prerequisite for being activated from the DL, according to the manager.

"He's the only one who can tell us how he feels," Collins said.
