Montero, Syndergaard on Futures display

CHICAGO -- Right-handers Noah Syndergaard and Rafael Montero have been selected to participate in the Futures Game at 2 p.m. on July 14 at Citi Field as part of the All-Star festivities.
Montero, currently with Las Vegas, is a combined 7-4 with a 2.91 ERA in 15 starts between Binghamton and the 51s.
Syndergaard, acquired last December in the R.A. Dickey trade, made his Double-A debut Sunday after going 3-3 with a 3.12 ERA in 12 starts with Class A St. Lucie.
Mets fans also will have the opportunity to vote 2011 first-round pick Brandon Nimmo into the game. He is one of five U.S. players that fans can vote on. Also on the ballot: Red Sox farmhand Garin Cecchini, brother of 2012 Mets first-round pick Gavin Cecchini.
