Mets acquire Herrera in trade with Bucs

Brace Hemmelgarn/Minnesota Twins/Getty ImagesNEW YORK -- The Mets have acquired Class A infielder Dilson Herrera and a player to be named from the Pittsburgh Pirates for John Buck, Marlon Byrd and cash.
The Mets have acquired Dilson Herrera, who played in the July 14 Futures Game at Citi Field.
Herrera, a 19-year-old second baseman from Colombia, was hitting .265 with 11 homers and 56 RBIs in 423 at-bats with West Virginia in the South Atlantic League. He represented the Pirates in the Futures Game at Citi Field.
