Why no Wilmer? Ankles, fatigue, Satin
By Adam Rubin
ATLANTA -- Wilmer Flores is out of the starting lineup for the fourth time in six games. So what gives?
Terry Collins suggested that while Flores' ankles are generally "OK," he is "beat up" from a long season. The manager added that the Mets are trying to win games and Josh Satin is performing well. So Collins likes placing Satin at third base while giving an opportunity to Lucas Duda at first base.
One indication Flores is worn down: Asked if he was again playing winter ball this season, which he has done consistently with Margarita in Venezuela, Flores said he is unsure.
