Mets formally activate Wright from DL
By Adam Rubin
PHILADELPHIA -- The Mets officially activated David Wright from the disabled list Friday in anticipation of him returning to the lineup in the series opener against the Philadelphia Phillies.
Wright last played in a major league game Aug. 2, when he suffered a Grade 2 strain of his right hamstring.
• The Mets announced Double-A shortstop Wilfredo Tovar, who is due to join the major league club today, will wear No. 70.
• There will be 49 prospects attending the fall instructional league, which opens Tuesday and runs through Oct. 4. The invites include the past three first-round picks: first baseman Dominic Smith (2013), shortstop Gavin Cecchini (2012) and outfielder Brandon Nimmo (2011).
