Hart chooses Seattle; Brewers 1B still open
By Adam Rubin
LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- Corey Hart has opted for a one-year deal with the Seattle Mariners, CBSSports.com reported. That leaves the Milwaukee Brewers still searching for a first baseman, preserving that as a potential landing spot for the Mets to send Ike Davis.
Still, a source told ESPNNewYork.com Wednesday morning that he believed Logan Morrison would end up with Milwaukee, not Davis.
And a Mets official said Wednesday afternoon, before learning of Hart's decision, that he believed the Mets would leave the winter meetings with both Davis and Lucas Duda still with the ballclub.
UPDATE: Morrison instead has been traded to Seattle, the Miami Herald reported.
