Fri. deadline for exchanging salary demands
By Adam Rubin
As Friday's deadline to exchange salary demands nears, the Mets have not yet settled with any of their arbitration-eligible players: Daniel Murphy, Ike Davis, Bobby Parnell, Dillon Gee, Eric Young Jr., Lucas Duda and Ruben Tejada.
If a case remains unsettled at the end of the week, the team and player's agent will exchange salary demands.
An arbitrator ultimately would choose only one of those two figures -- not a point between.
Of course, the sides could still settle for any number between those two figures even after Friday.
Here are the estimated salaries the Mets' arbitration-eligible players will earn in 2014, via students from Pace Law School and MLB Trade Rumors:
Murphy $5.1 million
Davis $3.825 million
Parnell $3.725 million
Gee $3.55 million
Young $1.9 million
Duda $1.8 million
Tejada $1.0 million
