TC: Colon 'just didn't have his stuff"

By Adam Rubin

DENVER -- What was Terry Collins' analysis of Bartolo Colon's outing? Pretty simple.

"Certainly he did not have the usual command that he has," Collins said after Colon allowed seven runs in 4 2/3 innings as the Colorado Rockies beat the Mets, 7-4, Thursday night at Coors Field. "He'd want to come in, he'd throw the ball away. He'd want to go away, he'd throw the ball up and in. The release point, the command wasn't there tonight.

"And he has been real good. This is a park, you've got to make pitches, or you're going to get hurt here. They can put a lot of hits together. You look on that board, there's a lot of pretty good hitters in their lineup. So this is one of those nights where he just didn't have his stuff."

Colon, who went 18-6 last season with Oakland, fell to 2-4 in 2014.
