LAS VEGAS 13, EL PASO 7: Kirk Nieuwenhuis had two home runs, a double and a single as the 51s pounded the Chihuahuas (and forced Jeff Francoeur to pitch another inning). Allen Dykstra had three hits for Las Vegas, and Brandon Allen hit a home run. Starter Logan Verrett got the win, despite giving up seven runs in six innings. Ryan Reid pitched three scoreless innings of relief for the save. Box.
BINGHAMTON 7, NEW HAMPSHIRE 5: Cory Vaughn had three hits as the B-Mets held on to win a game that was suspended on Tuesday night. Tyler Pill got credit for the win, even though he allowed five runs in four innings. Chase Bradford pitched a scoreless ninth for his 11th save. Box.
NEW HAMPSHIRE 5, BINGHAMTON 2: Starting pitcher Rainy Lara left the regularly scheduled game in the third inning after suffering an injury while covering home plate. Matt Clark had two of the five B-Mets hits, including a run-scoring double. Lara allowed the Fisher Cats' first run before he was forced out of the game, and was charged with the loss. Box.
ST. LUCIE 3, BREVARD COUNTY 2: Brandon Nimmo, who came out of Tuesday's game with what the Mets described as a sprained left ankle, was not only able to return to the lineup Wednesday, but he had a hit, stole a base and scored a run. Domingo Tapia allowed just three hits in seven scoreless innings in his best start of the season. Jairo Perez had three hits and drove in two of St. Lucie's three runs. Third baseman Aderlin Rodriguez was activated off the disabled list and played his first game since May 14. Box.
SAVANNAH at AUGUSTA, ppd.: The Sand Gnats were supposed to play a doubleheader, but rain forced the postponement of both games. They'll now be played the week of June 12, in Savannah.
