E.Y. Jr. nearly off and running
By Adam Rubin
PHILADELPHIA -- Eric Young Jr., out with a right hamstring strain, is expected to run outdoors Tuesday in Port St. Lucie, Fla., for the first time since landing on the disabled list on May 25.
E.Y. Jr. might have attempted that activity Monday, but sloppy weather at the Mets' complex kept him indoors, running on a submerged treadmill that limits the impact.
Young is not eligible to return from the disabled list until the Mets return home next Tuesday to face the Milwaukee Brewers.
