Montero diagnosed with oblique strain
By Adam Rubin
NEW YORK -- Right-hander Rafael Montero, who left Saturday's start for Triple-A Las Vegas after five pitches, officially has been diagnosed with a left oblique strain.
He joins Noah Syndergaard on the shelf with the Pacific Coast League club. Syndergaard is recovering from a sprained A/C joint in his left, non-throwing shoulder, which he suffered covering home plate.
UPDATE: Syndergaard is listed to come off the DL and start Monday for Las Vegas.
