Travis d'Arnaud return not imminent
By Adam Rubin
ST. LOUIS -- Travis d'Arnaud is eligible to return to the Mets on Wednesday, because he will have completed the minimum 10-day stay in the minors. Yet team officials, while pleased with d'Arnaud's torrid production, do not intend to bring him back to the majors that soon.
That doesn't mean d'Arnaud will be away much longer.
If d'Arnaud spends fewer than 20 days in the minors this season, the option the Mets used to demote him is rescinded, and can be used in a future year if need be. The Mets would like to retain that option if practical, so look for d'Arnaud to return no later than June 27.
Through seven games and 29 at-bats with Triple-A Las Vegas, d'Arnaud is hitting .414 with five homers and 10 RBIs.
