Friday's Mets-Padres lineups

SAN DIEGO -- Here are the lineups for the Mets' 10:10 p.m. ET series opener Friday against the San Diego Padres at Petco Park.

The Mets enter the second half with a 45-50 record and seven games out in the NL East. The Amazin's last posted a winning second-half record in 2008 (38-29).

San Diego promoted Nelson from Triple-A El Paso before the series opener. Nelson, 29, began the season playing in Triple-A for the Cincinnati Reds. He was released last month.
