LAS VEGAS 7, ALBUQUERQUE 5: Right-hander Logan Verrett recorded his team-leading 10th victory. The Baylor product, a third-round pick in 2011, allowed two runs on four hits in seven innings. He walked three and struck out two in a 99-pitch effort. Vegas overcame a 2-0 deficit with a six-run fifth. BINGHAMTON 3, HARRISBURG 0: Steven Matz tossed seven scoreless innings and

combined with Randy Fontanez on the shutout. Matz allowed four hits and two walks and struck out five. Binghamton took a 1-0 lead in the third. Wilfredo Tovar doubled against James Simmons, moved to third on a groundout and scored on  Brandon Nimmo's two-out triple. An inning later, Travis Taijeron doubled with one out. He scored on a single by T.J. Rivera. Xorge Carrillo's single placed runners on the corners. Tovar's sac fly then put the Mets ahead, 3-0. Matz (5-3) has allowed one unearned run and no other damage in 13 innings in his last two outings. Fontanez had three strikeouts in two scoreless innings to pick up his first career Double-A save. He had 10 saves for St. Lucie before a promotion. At 72-48, Binghamton is at its high-water mark for the season. Brian Burgamy went 0-for-4, snapping his 13-game hitting streak. B-Met starters have allowed three earned runs in the past eight games, spanning 53 1/3 innings. Box

With one out in the frame, Tapia surrendered a double to Max Moroff and walked Justin Howard and Raul Fortunato to load the bases. Chism entered to face lefty Jin-De Jhang. He walked Jhang to force in the tying run. Ashley Ponce followed with an RBI single 65 feet up the third-base line to put the Marauders in front, 2-1. The Mets had scored their lone run in the sixth. Jeff McNeil extended his hitting streak to nine games with a leadoff triple. He scored on Gavin Cecchini’s sac fly. The Mets had runners at the corners with two outs in the eighth, but Fortunato hauled in a deep line drive to center by L.J. Mazzilli. Ponce committed an error at third with two outs in the ninth that allowed Maikis De La Cruz to advance to second. However, Josh Smith got Albert Cordero to ground back to him to end the ballgame. The Marauders took sole possession of first place in the FSL South with the win and are now 4 1/2 games ahead of the Mets. Tapia was enjoying one of his best games of the season before he lost control with the back-to-back walks in the seventh. He went 6 1/3 innings and was charged with both runs on four hits and three walks. The Mets have been held to seven runs in their last four games. St. Lucie mustered three hits Sunday -- the triple from McNeil, a double from Jared King and a single by Cecchini. Box

SAVANNAH 6, AUGUSTA 4 (seven innings): In a rain-shortened game, Stefan Sabol had a game-tying RBI triple in the sixth. He scored for a 5-4 lead on Yeixon Ruiz's single. Jorge Rivero added an RBI double in the seventh. Ruiz finished 4-for-4 with two runs scored. Rivero drove in two runs. Alex Panteliodis allowed four runs (one earned) in 5 1/3 innings. Box

KINGSPORT 7, JOHNSON CITY 4: Jean Rodriguez's two-run homer in the fifth got the K-Mets on the scoreboard. Kingsport overcame a 4-3 deficit in the eighth on Zach Mathieu's RBI single and Branden Kaupe's run-scoring groundout. Mathieu finished 2-for-3 with two walks and two RBIs. Box

BROOKLYN 5, BATAVIA 2: The Cyclones broke a 2-all tie with a three-run ninth. Amed Rosario had a tiebreaking double that plated Pedro Perez and Tyler Moore. Both had walked to open the inning. Adrian Abreu plated Rosario with a sacrifice fly. Box
