LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- The Mets are considering free-agent reliever Chris Perez, a source said Monday.
Perez, 28, went 5-3 with a 4.33 ERA and 25 saves in 54 relief appearances for the Cleveland Indians this past season. He was released after earning $7.3 million in 2013.
He would provide a viable complement to Bobby Parnell, who missed the final two months of this past season and required surgery to repair a herniated disk in his neck.
Parnell is soon due to travel to California, the site of his surgery, to get clearance to do full activities.
