RICHMOND 7, BINGHAMTON 6: Randy Fontanez surrendered three runs in the ninth inning as the B-Mets blew their third save in their past three chances. Blake Miller’s walk-off single capped a furious Squirrels rally. After producing five runs in the eighth, Binghamton ultimately handed a 6-4 lead to Fontanez for the ninth. They righty walked pinch hitter Mario Lisson and allowed a single to Kelby Tomlinson. In an attempt to advance the runners, Elliott Blair bunted to the mound. Fontanez pounced on the roller, but his throw to third base ticked off Dustin Lawley’s glove and rolled into left field, allowing Lisson to score. With two runners in scoring position, Fontanez bounced a wild pitch, plating the tying run. Miller then capped the comeback by lining a 3-1 pitch into the left-field corner.
