Deron Williams went off on Friday night, going for a season-high 35 points and 14 assists while having just two turnovers in the Nets’ 110-103 win in Phoenix.
According to the team, the only other Net to ever record 35 or more points and at least 14 assists in a non-overtime game was Stephon Marbury, who had 35 points and 14 asists in a 113-111 victory against Toronto on Feb. 21, 2001.
For Williams, it was the most points he’s scored in a game since Jan. 26, 2011 against San Antonio (39).
Prior to Friday night, He'd never had a game in which he'd scored as many as 35 points and dished out as many as 14 assists in his career.
He scored a career-high 42 points against Oklahoma City on Apr. 6, 2010. He dished out a career-high 21 assists twice -- the latest effort on Apr. 5, 2011 against Minnesota.
Williams tied his single-game high by making six 3-pointers on Friday night. He also did this on Dec. 27, 2010 against Portland and Jan. 17, 2011 in Washington.
