The Nets have point guard Deron Williams listed as day-to-day on their injury official injury report.
Williams will not play Saturday night against Houston due to a strained right calf. Jordan Farmar will start in his place.
The All-Star point guard suffered the injury during the second quarter of Friday night’s win in Charlotte. He has been dealing with foot and calf issues since the All-Star game.
Coach Avery Johnson reiterated that Williams is day-to-day, and offered no exact update as to a timetable for his return.
Regardless of who starts in D-Will’s place -- Jordan Farmar is expected to -- the Nets will be trotting out their NBA-high 18th different starting lineup this season.
The Nets are just 4 1/2 games back of the eighth and final playoff spot in the East, so they need Williams back.
On Saturday, they’ll kick off a stretch of nine of 11 at home, where they’re just 4-13.
