Larry King tweeted that Dwight Howard was ready to traded to the Nets -- until he changed his mind.

“You read it here. Dwight Howard had agreed to be traded to the Nets, but had a last minute change of heart and stayed with the Magic,” King tweeted from his verified @kingsthings account on Wednesday.

“My source is reliable. If Dwight wants to comment, I can't tell Dwight what to say,” the famous TV reporter later tweeted Thursday.

Not like it matters now. If it is true, all it does is further infuriate Nets fans.

But don’t worry, the “Dwightmare” isn’t over just yet. After all, he’s going to be a free agent at the end of next season.

And you know what that means: if the Nets are competitive in Brooklyn and have assets to spare, you better believe the D-12-to-the-Nets talk with heat up quickly.

Gilbert Arenas, now a member of the Grizzlies, told the Memphis Commercial Appeal that the Nets were interested in his services when he was a free agent.

“New Jersey kept calling. But at that time I wasn't ready. Physically, I was working on trying to find a way to help my knee out. Mentally, I was trying to rediscover myself,” Agent Zero said.

• Former Net Tate George was indicted Friday morning on Ponzi scheme charges, according to the Newark (N.J.) Star-Ledger.

Deron Williams wouldn’t talk about his recent ejection to reporters in Atlanta.
