Next summer doesn't look as Melo
By Jared Zwerling
Even if the Denver Nuggets are able to re-sign Carmelo Anthony to a contract extension, the Nets will be in strong contention next summer to make a pitch for the 2011 free agent. That's because the Nets will have roughly $20 million in cap space (New York Post). In the meantime, the Nets already have a guarantee from one new member who will join them at the Prudential Center next summer -- the New York Liberty. The WNBA franchise will play all of its home games across the river while its current arena, Madison Square Garden, undergoes a multimillion-dollar renovation (The Star-Ledger).
