Monday: Football in June
By Jon Scher
Football in June? What a good idea! Rich Cimini and Jane McManus are at the Jets’ minicamp starting this morning in Florham Park, with a preview, news, video and blog items. And Ohm Youngmisuk previews the Giants camp, which runs Tuesday through Thursday.
The first-place Yankees and the nearly first-place Mets are off today, so we’ll have an Adam Rubin feature on Jason Bay and a Johnette Howard column on the framed photo Jerry Manuel keeps on his office wall – it’s a shot of the cabin he grew up in, built by his father on land he bought for $250 and a mule. Andrew Marchand is handling off-day coverage of the Yanks, and we’ll have a “Relive the 2009 World Series” photo gallery to celebrate the rematch with the Phillies, starting Tuesday night.
Coverage of the World Cup scene in New York continues this morning with Ian Begley watching Netherlands-Denmark in a Danish bar in Times Square (of course he is). And we’ll be updating our interactive where-to-watch World Cup guide – this is worth a look, whether or not you’re a soccer fan.
