Watch this beautifully-done E:60 piece on Moore. He’s overcome personal tragedy just to be here, having lost his wife Katie, 32, to a rare form of liver cancer. Moore left the San Jose Sharks in the middle of the 2012 playoffs to be with Katie. He sat out the entire 2012-13 season after her death.

• Moore, originally selected by the Rangers in the third round (No. 95 overall) of the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, is a really good hockey player. He plays on the fourth line, but he’s really elevated his game. Moore scored the only goal in the Rangers’ Eastern Conference finals-clinching victory in Game 6 against the Montreal Canadiens.

• Moore, who has played with nine different teams in his career, is also extremely smart. He played his college hockey at Harvard. Even cooler than that? He was teammates with his brothers, Steve and Mark. They even got to play on the same line. Harvard is where Moore met Katie, too.
