Derek Jeter may think Brian Cashman is the Grinch, but the Yankees GM really is going to be an elf.

Late on Sunday afternoon, Cashman will rappel off a 350-foot building with Santa Claus in Stamford, Conn. He is officially a celebrity guest elf. The Yankees have confirmed this is true. The Stamford Advocate has full details.

Maybe Santa will pack a couple of more millions for the Captain and he will sign before Christmas. The GM meetings start on Monday morning, so Cashman is probably taking private jet down that night or first thing the next morning -- or perhaps hitching a ride with the big guy in the red suit.
