Commissioner Bud Selig has reached out to Yankees owner Hal Steinbrenner and team president Randy Levine to tell them to pass the word down to Hank Steinbrenner not to talk about revenue sharing, a baseball official confirmed.

The Commissioner doesn't want owners talking about the state of the game's economics. So Hank was told to put a lid on it.

No word if Hank is allowed to talk about players' "mansions" or the appropriate use of euphemisms in the future, but no labor topics.

Newsday first mentioned the commissioner's call.
