In a mild surprise considering the injury to Curtis Granderson, reserve outfielder Greg Golson was optioned to Triple A Scranton-Wilkes Barre before tonight's game, along with INFs Kevin Russo and Brandon Laird. In addition, OF Melky Mesa was optioned to AA Trenton, and INF Jorge Vazquez, OF Jordan Parraz and C Jose Gil were reassigned to minor-league camp, reducing the number of players in Yankee camp to 37.
