NEW YORK -- New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter is not in the lineup for Wednesday night's game against the Minnesota Twins at Yankee Stadium. Eduardo Nunez will start in his absence.
"No, there's nothing wrong with him," said manager Joe Girardi. "I just don't want to play him nine days in a row out of the chute."
In five games so far this season, Jeter is batting .167 (3-for-18). He went 1-for-4 with a run scored and a walk in Tuesday night's 5-4 10-inning loss. For his career, Jeter is a .400 hitter (4-for-10) against Twins right-hander Carl Pavano, who will start Wednesday night against his former team.
Here is the Yankees lineup:

4. Alex Rodriguez DH
5. Robinson Cano 2B
6. Nick Swisher RF
