What it means: That the Yankees don't seem to have much to fear from interleague baseball. They have now won 9 of 13 games against National League clubs this season, including this rout over one of the NL's three division leaders.

What's good: Nick Swisher. Swish-a-licious belted his 10th HR, a three-run shot, off Zach Greinke in the second to turn a 4-0 game into a 7-0 rout. Swisher also gunned down Corey Hart at the plate in the sixth and started a 9-2-6 double play on Yuniesky Betancourt's sac fly in the fourth. And just for good measure, he added an RBI double in the eighth. Mark Teixeira allowed Jose Bautista to borrow the Major League lead in homers for two innings, then reclaimed a share of it with No. 24 in the sixth. Tex had four ribbies. Freddy Garcia turned in six not great but creditable innings, allowing eight hits and two runs to earn his seventh win. And GM Brian Cashman, whose decision not to pursue Greinke in a trade last year, looked awfully wise on this night.

What's not so good: Tough to find anything to beef about on a night in which almost every hitter in the lineup either had a hit, scored a run or drove one in, but Brett Gardner was hitless in two at-bats, although he did reach twice, on a walk and a hit-by-pitcher and scored both times. And had Nyjer Morgan not screwed up the route to Curtis Granderson's first-inning flyball, he, too, would have been hitless. But the ball dropped and in the boxscore, it goes down as the Grandy Man's league-leading seventh triple. Hector Noesi needed 34 pitches to navigate a scoreless seventh inning. Worst of all, a game that was essentially over after 20 minutes dragged on for another three hours to its inevitable conclusion.

Ladies and gentlemen, now hitting for Alex Rodriguez: Ramiro Pena, in the bottom of the seventh. Actually, it never happened. Joe Girardi sent him to the on-deck circle but Teixeira flied out to end the inning. Too bad. That was one El Nino could have told his grandchildren about someday.

What's coming from us: Matt Ehalt is writing about Swish's Big Night; Mike Mazzeo will head over the the Brewers to check in with Greinke; I'm writing a column about how many teams I've seen this season that are better than the Yankees. So far, I can only think of one. And all three of us will work on filling up the blog with notes from the postgame clubhouse.

What's next: A.J. Burnett (7-6, 4.15), who is 1-2 lifetime with a 6.39 ERA vs. the Brewers, faces RHP Shaun Marcum (7-2, 2.95) Wednesday night at 7:05 p.m.
