Andruw Jones has joined the long list of creditors of the Los Angeles Dodgers, who filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy this week, but the Yankees outfielder says he is not worried about getting the remainder of the $12 million in deferred salary the Dodgers must pay him between now and 2014 as part of the two-year, $36.2 million contract he signed in 2007.

"My agent (Scott Boras) told me everything is going to be all right,'' Jones said. "Just like the situation with that happened with the Texas Rangers, Scott told me he handled it the last time, so it should be fine.''

Jones was referring to the Rangers' bankruptcy in 2010, a casualty of which was his teammate, Alex Rodriguez, at the time a Boras client who was owed $24.9 million in deferred salary. Rodriguez reportedly got his money after the team was sold to a consortium headed by Chuck Greenburg and Nolan Ryan last August. Now, with Major League Baseball moving to take control of the cash-strapped Dodgers, Jones said he is confident his case will reach a similarly favorable conclusion.

"I may not get it on time, but I gotta get my money because Major League Baseball is taking over," he said. "I'm not worried about it.''

The Yankees are paying Jones--who is hitting .213 with 4 home runs and 12 RBI -- $2 million for this season, with incentive bonuses that could add another $1 million based on playing time.
