Mark Teixeira hit his 300th career home run in the third inning of the Yankees game Thursday vs. the Brewers. Teixeira's solo shot off Randy Wolf gave the Yankees a 3-0 lead at the time. He joins teammates Alex Rodriguez and Andruw Jones in the 300-home run club.

With the home run, a shot to left field, Teixeira also became the league leader in home runs with 25, putting him ahead of Toronto's Jose Bautista. Teixeira is on pace for approximately 51 home runs, which would surpass his career-high of 43, set back in 2005 when he was with the Texas Rangers.

Teixeira is hitting. 245 with 25 home runs and 63 RBI on the year. He is second in the American League in RBI, trailing only Boston's Adrian Gonzalez.
