Reserve infielder Brandon Laird made his major league debut in the Bronx on Friday night.

After watching Joey Devine's first pitch sail behind his back, Laird, pinch-hitting for Derek Jeter, worked a walk. He drew plenty of cheers from the crowd in the Bronx.

He hadn't played in four games prior to Friday. He was called up prior to Monday's win over Tampa.

He and his brother Gerald (St. Louis) are one of six pairs of brothers currently in the big leagues.
