Game No. 98: Athletics @ Yankees

Here is the Yankees' lineup for Saturday afternoon's game against righty Rich Harden and the A's:

Brett Gardner, 7

Derek Jeter, 6

Curtis Granderson, 8,

Mark Teixeira, 3

Robinson Cano, DH

Nick Swisher, 9

Russell Martin, 2

Eduardo Nunez, 4

Brandon Laird, 5

A.J. Burnett, RHP

Notes: A night after getting his first big-league hit, Laird gets his first big-league start. He'll be at third, with Nunez shifting to second as Cano takes a day at DH. Joe Girardi will stick with Gardner at the top of his lineup against righties, with Jeter batting second.

The combination certainly worked well for Jeter on Friday night as the Captain had three RBIs. Gardner went 1-for-5 with a run and RBI in the Yanks' 17-7 rout of Oakland.

Entering the weekend, Gardner was hitting .238 in the leadoff spot.
