Tex goes deep again, sets MLB record

Mark Teixeira's second home run of the game, a seventh-inning shot into the right-field seats batting lefty against right-handed reliever Jason Frasor, was not only his 31st of the year and provided the Yankees and Phil Hughes with a 5-0 lead, it also marked the 12th time in Teixeira's career he has homered from both sides of the plate in the same game -- a major-league record.

Tex had been tied with Hall of Famer Eddie Murray and former Yankee Chili Davis with 11. The Yankee with the second-highest total is Mickey Mantle with 10.
