It’s Jorge’s Day!

Three at-bats. Three hits. Six RBIs. And one helluva grand slam.

Jorge Posada’s salami into the right field seats in the fifth inning has given the Yankees a 7-0 lead over the Rays at Yankee Stadium.

After returning to the dugout, Posada came out for a curtain call and was cheered loudly by the raucous crowd.

Posada’s six RBIs are his most since Sept. 6, 2006 at Kansas City. His single game career-high for RBIs is seven.

It was Posada’s 10th career grand slam and first since June 13, 2010 versus Houston.

Posada’s homer snapped an 84 at-bat drought without one.

Remember, Posada hasn’t played since Aug. 6, the day before Joe Girardi told him he had lost his regular designated hitter spot and was being bench.
