Mark Teixeira's bruised right knee hasn't improved much since he was hit there on Thursday night.
He sat out Friday's game and didn't sound optimistic about playing on Saturday, either.
When asked after the Yankees' 3-2 win Friday how his knee felt, Teixeira responded, "Not as good as I would have liked. Not that much better today, so hopefully another night's sleep will help it."
He also said he'd been feeling pain in his hamstring.
Teixeira spent the day Friday treating the injury. He originally suffered it in the sixth inning on Thursday when Boston's Alfredo Aceves drilled him with an 83-mph cutter.
"Anytime I try to flex my leg or walk, that hamstring is just real tight there behind the knee," Teixeira said.
Teixeira and Alex Rodriguez sat on Friday night. Rodriguez has missed the Yankees last six games with a sprained left thumb.
