A-Rod jokes with Miggy: I want the ball on first hit

After going hitless in his first 12 at-bats of the playoffs, Alex Rodriguez finally got a hit, a single to center in the eighth. When he did, the Tigers' Miguel Cabrera looked as if he made fun of him.

Cabrera motioned to the Yankees' dugout to see if they wanted the ball. A-Rod didn't seem to react one way or the other to Cabrera's gesture.

"I said, 'I wanted the ball,'" A-Rod said.

Later in the six-run inning, A-Rod added another single.

"Then I said, 'I want two balls,'" A-Rod added. "He's a good kid. I was having some fun with him"

Rodriguez hit the ball a little more solidly on Tuesday. In the fifth, he picked up his third RBI of the series when he hit a sacrifice fly to center.

The whole series, Rodriguez has played excellent defense.
