Why Freddy makes the most sense

Just finished a news story about the Yankees and Freddy Garcia having "mutual interest."

As I wrote the story and thought about it further, it reinforced the feeling that Yankees GM Brian Cashman might just re-sign Freddy Garcia and call it a winter.

If you go on the assumption, you can get Garcia on a one-year contract, what is a better play? Maybe Mark Buehrle.

For the amount of money and years, C.J. Wilson isn't enough of a sure thing. Roy Oswalt has a back issue. Scott Boras will want multiple years for Edwin Jackson and will wait forever to get it.

Yu Darvish will cost money to win the posting fee and then a contract. For that amount of money, I don't think the Yankees feel they know what they will be getting, based on not just their past Japanese pitchers, but all Japanese pitchers. The transition from the Japanese game to the American one has not been that smooth for pitchers.

So that leaves Garcia standing with Hector Noesi, David Phelps, Adam Warren, D.J. Mitchell, Manny Banuelos and Dellin Betances waiting in the wings.

So here is your question of the Day: Do you want Freddy or someone else as your fifth starter next season?
