The "other deal'' in the Yankees Friday the 13th rampage, the Hiroki Kuroda deal, could well be finished tonight, too. On Jan. 13, the same night the Yankees reached agreement with the Mariners on the Jesus Montero-for-Michael Pineda trade, the Yankees came to terms on a one-year, $10-million deal for Kuroda, who won 13 games for the Dodgers last year. But finalization of that one has been held up, too, due to language issues -- both language in the contract, and the language barrier with the Japanese-born Kuroda, who obviously needs the contract translated into his native tongue before he can sign it. The Yankees say most of those issues have been ironed out and the deal is likely to be completed this week, perhaps as soon as later tonight (Monday) or early Tuesday.
