If you are a GM and lose your job, give Yankees GM Brian Cashman a call.

Cashman used to have Kevin Towers as a special assignment guy before Towers left for Arizona. He supposedly talked to Omar Minaya about a position. Now, he has turned to Jim Hendry, who was let go by the Cubs.

Billy Eppler will remain Cashman's right-hand man, but Eppler may not be long for the job. He interviewed for the Angels job and, according to Buster Olney, he came in second for the gig, potentially changing history (See: Pujols, Albert). Anyway, Eppler probably will win the gold soon and become a GM. Hendry will help out in the meantime and gives Cashman some more expertise; especially about the National League.
