It's official: Mo the oldest pitcher in AL

With the retirement today of Tim Wakefield, Mariano Rivera assumes the distinction of being the oldest active pitcher in the American League at 42 years, three months. The remarkable Rivera, who posted 44 saves and a 1.91 ERA in 2011, is in the final year of his contract and has dropped hints this may be his last year, as well.
