Yankees starting pitcher Freddy Garcia and reliever David Robertson both threw bullpen sessions on Tuesday, prior to the Yankees' 10-3 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates, and both sessions went well.

Garcia is suffering from a bruised hand, while Robertson has a sprained right foot.

The next step for Robertson is to throw batting practice. "Robby’s gonna throw BP, so we’ll see how he feels after today, and then we’ll decide what day," said Yankees manager Joe Girardi. "And then if he throws the BP and everything goes OK ... you’ll see him in a game shortly after that."

It's also possible that Garcia will start one of the Yankees' split-squad games this coming Friday.
