The news about Cesar Cabral, the lefty reliever who had a good chance to make the club, is not as good as the news about Michael Pineda. Joe Girardi said Cabral has "a significant injury'' to his pitching elbow, although he could not specify what it was. Cabral pitched one inning Friday night but left the mound in great pain and underwent an MRI and an X-ray this morning. Girardi said Cabral's recovery "would take longer than 15 days,'' but did not know if Cabral would require surgery.
