Maybe it was the gray pants

On a day of firsts for Marlins Park, there was one first the Yankees could have done without.

For the first time since back in the 1900s -- no one is quite sure when -- Mariano Rivera made a road trip in the spring.

And for the first time since March 15, 2008, he surrendered a run in a spring training game, a span of 28 Grapefruit League innings.

Pitching the fifth inning in relief of CC Sabathia , Mo surrendered back to back singles to John Buck and Jose Reyes, and Buck eventually scored on a sacrifice fly.

That completed Rivera's official spring -- he will throw one more simulated inning in Tampa on Tuesday while the rest of the team is in lovely Port St. Lucie playing the Mets -- and his final numbers, while great (2-0, 1.12 ERA), are obviously his worst in five years.

Since, of course, the last time he allowed a run in March.
