Nunez error costs Yankees in first inning

Another start for Eduardo Nunez, and another costly error in the field.

Nunez, starting at third base to give Alex Rodriguez a half-day off (A-Rod is the DH), booted a routine ground ball in the top of the first inning against the Rays on Thursday night.

There were runners on first and second base at the time, so the error allowed the Rays to load the bases. The next batter, Carlos Pena, drove home a run with a single to right field -- but Nick Swisher gunned down the next runner at the plate to end the inning.

The run is unearned for Yankees ace CC Sabathia. It's Nunez's third error of the season, in his 14th start. He made 20 errors a seson ago.
