Russell Martin is sitting out his second straight game and Joe Girardi says he has a stiff neck. He is day-to-day.

With a lefty starting for Oakland, Mark Teixeira, fresh off a four-hit, two-homer day on Saturday, is restored to the three-hole in the batting order.

Derek Jeter reported no problems with his left wrist, which he rolled over making a diving stop in Saturday's game.

This is the second time Hiroki Kuroda will start against the A's. As a Dodger, he allowed five runs in six innings and took the loss on June 17, 2009.

None of the Yankees has ever faced Tommy Milone.
