A-Rod blasts homer

Yankee fans should be excited after watching Alex Rodriguez blast a homer off Tigers' ace Justin Verlander in the third inning to give the Yankees a 3-0 lead.

A-Rod drilled a 3-1 pitch 447 feet over the fence in left-center field at Comerica Park. It hit the brick wall beyond the fence.

It's A-Rod's second homer and the last three days. He had a two-run bomb in Friday night's 9-4 victory. He now has 10 homers on the season. It was career number 638, fifth all time.
