As we speculated this morning in First Pitch, Joe Girardi has tabbed Raul Ibanez to start against lefty Johan Santana because of his career success against the Mets' ace. Ibanez has hit .348 in 46 at-bats against Santana. This is only the eighth game this year that Ibanez has started against a lefty so this is a definite Binder situation.

Here is the rest of the Yankees' Subway Series-opening lineup:

Derek Jeter, SS
Curtis Granderson, CF
Mark Teixeira, 1B
Alex Rodriguez, 3B
Robinson Cano, 2B
Nick Swisher, RF
Andruw Jones, DH
Raul Ibanez, LF
Russell Martin, C

Hiroki Kuroda, P
