ATLANTA -- Brett Gardner was in the clubhouse today. He said he was examined yesterday by Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham but, perhaps ominously, would not reveal what the doctor told him.

"I’m going to wait until after I see the doctor on Thursday before I say anything," said Gardner, who will see Dr. Timothy Kremchek, the Reds' team physician, in Cincinnati on Thursday.

Gardner has been on the disabled list since April 19 with a strained right elbow. An injury that has limited him to just 9 games all season.

"To tell you the truth, I don’t feel I played at all this year." Asked if thought he’d play again this season Gardner said, "I believe I will and hopefully relatively soon."

More to come.
